Inspired by the 2023 “Moving Mahler” event that brought Alberta’s orchestras together, we welcome a team of musicians from the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra. We are thrilled to present the incredibly inspired Octet of George Enescu (composed when he was just 19) with a wonderful ensemble including Diana Cohen, Maria van der Sloot (violins), Jesse Morrison (viola), and Arnold Choi (cello). The Mendelssohn String Quartet Op. 44 No. 1 is known as one of the most virtuosic quartets of the literature—sparkling and effervescent, this piece is sure to get you bouncing in your seat.
